The Flamin’ Galahs were first into the bull ring to take on the Nyngan Bulls ladies who have set the competition alight with some big victories in their first year of formation over well-established clubs. The game started at a cracking pace, but it soon became apparent why this Nyngan ladies team is winning with domination. Slick backline moves and wraparounds made the Nyngan ladies look sharp, but the Flamin’ Galahs were holding their own. The Nyngan ladies ball handling and security was much better than that of the Flamin’ Galahs, who continually handed possession back to their opposition which mounted continuing pressure on the feathery visitors. By half-time the score was 17-nil to the Nyngan Bulls ladies.

The second half the Flamin’ Galahs regained a little composure but again ball security and running flat was not making it difficult for the Nyngan Bulls in defence. Finally, some smart ball movements and wraparounds by the Flamin’ Galahs had them putting pressure on the Nyngan Bulls ladies team but their defence withheld any attack. The final score at full-time was Nyngan Bulls Ladies 22-nil over the Flamin Galahs. Points were awarded as follows, one point went to winger Abigail Dobson, two points to halfback Peta Bradley, and three points and player’s player went to the Flamin’ Galahs other halfback Sarah Chandler.

The Gular men's team went over to Nyngan with only 15 available players, which meant they had no reserves as a result of nearly all the forward pack being unavailable due to farming and sowing commitments. The men were not going to have a bar of it and were led around the park by experienced campaigners Will and Tim Bowman, and captain Jack Bradley. The Nyngan team had the luxury of eight reserves and eventually fatigue became an issue for the Galahs, and the men went down (not without a fight) by 64-26. The baby backline did not stop trying all game and is improving with each game. Great runs by Jake Peart, Zac Ferguson, Darcey Neeves, Jaylem Peters, Aiden Walker, and Elton Walker kept the older Nyngan backline on their toes all day.

Special mention goes to tackling machines Archie Haling and Issac ‘The Axe’ Grimshaw who were tireless in defence all game. Tries to Gular were scored by Jaylem Peters, Elten Walker, Darcy Neeves and Lochie Ferguson. Points were awarded with one point to Jaylem Peters, Issac Grimshaw two points and Elton Walker three points. Player’s player went to Archie Haling.

Both the men's and ladies teams will regroup and prepare for this weekend's round five clash at home at Gulargambone against Bourke and Brewarrina.
