Wednesday’s social bowls
There were 12 bowlers last Wednesday, November 27 social bowls.
The winners with the highest winning margin were Christine Howchin, Bruce Parker and Dawn (visitor) who defeated Dave Jones, Leroy Gregory and Dylan Marchant, 21-8.
The remaining game saw a win go to Ed Wlodarczyk, Rod Howchin and Garry Garbutt against Mal Altmann, Brian (visitor) and Jayden Doran, 20-10.
Sunday’s social bowls
Another 12 bowlers turned up for social bowls on Sunday, December 1.
The winners of the afternoon were Mal Altmann, Leroy Gregory and skip Shaun Marchant. These lads defeated Dave Jones, Shayne Barwick and Norm Lummis, 18-9.
Shaun and Leroy celebrated like they had just won the triples championships, not social bowls. Very good to see happy winners enjoying their victory.
In the remaining game Michele Doherty, Bruce Parker and Dylan Marchant defeated Bob Rogers, Jayden Doran and Danial Riley, 25-14.
Raines defeats Howchin by eight shots in only championships fixture completed
Only one game of A-Championships was played. This match resulted in a win to Noel Raines who defeated Rod Howchin, 31-23.
Rod held the lead right up until the 22nd end with the score being 18-16 in his favour.
It was at this stage Fox hit a purple patch in scoring 10 shots on the next four ends and went on from there to claim the victory.
Fox will now play Dylan Marchant in the semi-final of this event.
