Christmas art presentation to visit schools and carols
Glenn and Leanne Coombs will present the Christmas Story through live art performances at Gilgandra’s schools and community carols event in December.
Glenn and Leanne Coombs, from Scripture Union Australia, will be presenting the Christmas Story through live art at Gilgandra’s schools in the first week in December.
“This is an exciting opportunity to observe several large paintings of some iconic Bible scenes being created ‘live’ by Leanne, while I [Glenn] narrate the details of the first Christmas,” said Mr Coombs.
“We have become aware that a lot of students are interested in art however, artists are usually hidden away, creating quietly in their studios. Our live art performances provide a rare opportunity to see these images being created before their eyes.”
Although many children will see this presentation at school, the performance will also be repeated for the whole family to enjoy at the upcoming Carols on the Castlereagh. The carols event is hosted by the Combined Churches so, go along with your picnic hamper and join in the community Christmas.
