I, Hilda Newstead, and Jane Coxedge are retiring as Gilgandra CWA Evening Branch Market Day co-ordinators after 10 years in the role.

We often arrived at 7am in the morning to meet and greet stall holders on market days. It’s time for a new team in 2025.

During those 10 years we generated around $1,000 per year for our CWA branch. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to distribute the funds back to the needy in our community and provide complementary catering for community events.

During 2024 we provided and served the evening meal at the Macquarie Home Stay Dubbo in March and October, catered the Associated Country Women of the World International luncheon in August, and provided the morning tea for the Nurses and staff from the Breast Screen Van (which was stationed in our car park) in September. The CWA also hosted our markets at the Cruisin’ into Christmas fund-raising concert held in December. It has been a pleasure to have had the opportunity to co-ordinate the CWA Monthly Markets on the first Saturday of every month.

Our newly elected co-ordinators are CWA members Vivienne Gozzard and Haylee Bishop.

We thank the community for their continued support of our monthly markets. We are sure our newly elected members will contribute to the community well.
