On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the Curban Community Hall came alive with energy, laughter, and meaningful conversation as 120 people gathered for Gather in Gil, a special event in celebration of International Women’s Day.

The afternoon was beautifully hosted by Claire Harvey from The Rustic Burrow, with Emily Herbert as the MC, guiding the event with warmth, humour, and heartfelt connection. Together, they set the tone for an uplifting and inspiring experience.

Guests were treated to powerful talks from three incredible women who generously shared their journeys and wisdom.

Kaitie Nash, a first-time farmer, spoke about her leap into agriculture, inspiring the audience with her courage and passion for the land.

Claire Austin from the Gin Gin Garden Club reflected on community, growth, and nurturing both gardens and relationships.

And Kate Ivy, founder of Dedikate Fitness, joined us all the way from New Zealand to speak about health, mindset, and resilience, reminding everyone of the importance of both physical and mental wellbeing.

The afternoon was a true celebration of connection. Delicious food and drinks flowed freely, and live music filled the hall, creating the perfect backdrop for laughter, reflection, and conversation. The space was beautifully styled, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming—a real reflection of the spirit of the day.

Gather in Gil wasn’t just an event; it was a celebration of community, courage, and the power of women supporting women. It reminded everyone of the strength found in shared stories and the importance of gathering with purpose.
