From May 30th, Saturday’s Monthly Medal on June 1st and Sunday’s Stableford on June 2nd.
Veterans
On Thursday, May 30, 13 veterans contested a nine-hole stroke. The winner was Bill Kirsop with a 29 nett. Second place went to Geoff Lummis with a 30 nett. John Newham came in third with a 32½ nett. Andy Harris won the average ball. Geoff Lummis got the least of putts with 11 for his round.
Saturday’s Monthly Medal
On June 1, the Victory Lap Sports Monthly Medal was contested. We had 22 golfers play an 18-hole stroke. The monthly medallist was John Newham with 66 nett. Garry McKenzie came in second with 69 nett. Nick Wright came third with 71 nett on a countback from Rob Hay who had the same score. Nearest the pin winners: 2/11 - Peter Fisk; 4/13 - Andy Harris; and 7/16 - Matt Everett. Matchplay result: Nick White 2 and 1 defeated Ian Ferguson.
Sunday’s Stableford
On June 2, we had 16 golfers who played an 18-hole stableford. Coming in first was Geoff Lummis with 34 points on a countback from Bill Welsh who also had 34 points. Third place went to Matt Zell with 33 points. Gilgandra Toyota nearest the pin was won by Quentin Karaitiana. Matchplay result for Sunday: Bill Welsh 2 and 1 defeated Stan Doyle.
