Katie and Thomas compete at state champs
Katie and Thomas Colwell both represented Gilgandra Little Athletics Club at the State Championships held at the Sydney Olympic Athletics Centre on March 22, 2025.

Katie competed in the 11 years girls discus event where she placed 13th in the State – throwing a massive 25.14 metres. An excellent result at such a high level of competition.
A special mention also goes to Thomas, who showed incredible determination and resilience by competing in the nine years boys shot put event despite having broken his arm just two weeks earlier. Thomas threw with his non-dominant (left) hand - a fantastic achievement and a true display of perseverance.
Well done to both athletes on proudly representing Gilgandra Little Athletics Club on the state stage!
The Gilgandra Little Athletics Club will be holding their annual general meeting and presentation day next month.
This annual general meeting and presentation day is an opportunity to showcase Gilgandra’s athletes with a sausage sizzle provided.
