Power outage shuts down NBN in Gil - AGAIN!
Just another day of lost connectivity for homes and businesses

Just after 2pm on Monday, March 17, 2025, in what is becoming an all too familiar occurrence, local businesses and homes lost connectivity to the internet.
After about an hour, Telstra, the service provider for Gilgandra Newspapers office, were able to confirm that the problem was the NBN service.
An NBN Co spokesperson later confirmed, that a power outage affected nbn services for 64 homes and businesses in Gilgandra.
"Power supply returned in the evening and nbn technicians attended the area the next morning on Tuesday (March 18) to restore NBN connectivity."
NBN services in the main street returned just before 11am on the Tuesday.
"We are sorry for the disruption to internet services at a busy time".
One of the added problems for local business, is that there is no backup service to rely on for Telstra. As it has been widely documented that the local 4G network is congested and useable for data in the main street.
You cannot even log on to the Telstra app to report an internet fault to Telstra - instead you have to navigate their phone lines - which often ends in being hung up on, or being transferred around three departments and undergoing multiple ID checks just to report and outage.
