The annual meeting of Gilgandra PROBUS Club was held last Thursday, February 13 with all positions remaining the same. President Pat Thompson’s report is included below, and we now have more than 40 members.

Our first guest speakers for the year were Linda Wykes and Heather Zell , who were resplendent in their warm jackets and beanies worn on their amazing trip to Finland, Sweden, Prague, Lapland, and the Arctic Circle.

They shared their experiences with a slide show, from sleigh rides towed by huskie dogs to the northern lights.

They told about the hospitality of Sami native people in Finland, and glass igloos and a farm with 6000 reindeers.

The royal palaces in two countries and Christmas experiences everywhere.

The most amazing experience for th-em was snow, snow, and more snow - such a contrast to our country.

Linda and Heather spoke so well and we all felt like we had been on their wonderful journey also. Thank you both, fr-om our members. Members then enjoyed lunch together in the dining room. Next month will be the changeover luncheon.
