The time has come to start collecting up your receipts from Gilgandra Region businesses, and you could be in with a chance of winning a share of $12,000 in Coo-ee Cash Cards. The first Christmas Shop Local draw will be at the end of November.

Activations and communications manager, Merscia Kouroulis, said, “You can be a #LocalLegend this Christmas by supporting Gilgandra Region businesses.”

“We boast a variety of businesses here, and by shopping local we are also supporting local families, creativity, talent, ambition, the behind the scenes work, late nights and early mornings, our local economy, and our region.”

This year, entrants must have valid receipt/s dated from November 4 to December 19, 2024, to the combined minimum value of $50 from participating businesses.

There are two ways you can enter Shop Local 2024:

  1. In an official entry envelope into the entries barrel. Official entry envelopes can be collected from Gilgandra Region businesses or from council’s Warren Road office.

  2. Online through council’s website, simply complete the form and upload a photo of your receipt.

There will be four weekly draws in November and December. A Christmas Wonderland Major Draw will also take place later this month where the winner must be present at the draw to claim the prize.

Council are also inviting local businesses to host the entries barrel through the Shop Local Christmas period.

“The barrel’s journey will begin on Warren Road, as the #LocalLegends at Western Farm Machinery, kindly asked to host. It will then return to Miller Street, at Gilgandra Pharmacy and IGA, subject to expressions of interest,” said Ms Kouroulis.

“Shop Local and #LocalLegends is an important part of council’s Grow Gilgandra program, and is proving to be a great way to recognise and celebrate the value of supporting local.”

“Grow Gilgandra continues to grow and adapt to suit changing needs and environmental challenges, with the Economic Development Committee reviewing the success of each year and addressing any challenges to deliver a strong program for the following year.

“We look forward to supporting local this year, and wish you the best of luck in your chance of winning a share of the $12,000 in Coo-ee Cash Cards!”
