Ultra celebrates opening with an all-day party!
Gilgandra was the centre of attention last week as Ultra Petroleum celebrated the grand opening of its newest service station in NSW.
The 100 per cent Australian-owned and operated independent fuel company has established its 13th facility in Gilgandra, renovating and re-branding an existing service station on Warren Road (formerly Easman’s). The facility will employ several people. The new Ultra service station opened earlier this year and on Thursday, November 14, officially celebrated the new beginnings with a day of giveaways, free coffee, slushies, a sausage sizzle, and hotly anticipated cheap fuel.
A steady stream of local residents and travellers made their way to the new facility through the day, enjoying the freebies and taking advantage of the nominated cheap fuel windows providing heavily discounted unleaded fuel priced below $1 per litre.
Ultra Petroleum founder Dimitry Kane travelled from Sydney to be on-site for opening day, pleased with the community support for the new fuel outlet. “It’s been very busy today, which is good,” Dimitry said. The firm’s social media featured a reel with cars lined up down Warren Road waiting to buy fuel at the new site.
“It’s a massive investment,” he said of Ultra Petroleum’s renovation and re-branding project in Gilgandra.
“I’ve brought people with me from Newcastle, Sydney, Wollongong – managers from other [Ultra Petroleum] sites that have come to ensure a great opening and to help out,” Dimitry said. “Thank you for supporting us,” he concluded.
