Ultra Petroleum will host their official grand opening next month with the business operating a new storefront along Warren Road since mid-September.
To celebrate two months of successful business, Ultra Petroleum Gilgandra will be putting on a number of discounts, giveaways, and free drinks to customers next week.
Ultra Petroleum is located at the site of the former Easman’s Service Station. Customers can expect free slushies and coffee, lollies and chips, hats, and other giveaways. Additionally, at certain times during the day, all fuel will be “heavily discounted”, according to Ultra Petroleum business owner Dimitri Kane.
“[The grand opening] is a promotional day where we plan to give away and give back to the local community,” said Dimitri.
“Most of our giveaways are supplied by our trade partners, [but] we are also going to have a free sausage sizzle. [We’ve] organised for Johnson’s Gourmet Butchery to be on the barbie.”
Dimitri Kane began Ultra Petroleum after 25 years in the petroleum industry. After operating service stations across NSW, all under different brands, he decided to create his own brand and unite all his sites under one umbrella.
“I started this process 12-years-ago,” Mr Kane said. “It took a while to come up with the colours and logos and such.”
Ultra Petroleum’s first service station opened in Mogo, a small town along the NSW South Coast between Bateman’s Bay and Moruya. Since then, the business has expanded all around the state. Despite this expansion, the business has remained family owned. Mr Kane’s two eldest sons, Jason and Richard, are involved closely in the business, along with Dimitri’s wife.
Gilgandra is the most recent site to be constructed having been acquired by the company in 2023. It has since gone under a renovation to the Ultra Petroleum branding.
“When I looked around the area, [there was good] potential of what we had to offer [Gilgandra] - I thought it would be a good location for us.”
Mr Kane said that, Ultra Petroleum brings “competitive pricing on fuel, monthly shop specials, and great service”.
“Really it’s all about the service… our number one priority is to look after locals,” he said.
Manager of the new Ultra Petroleum, Avi, commented on his experience in Gilgandra.
“Since we opened [in September], it’s been great,” he said. “The people are nice, much more friendly and easy going. I’ve been in Australia for 16 years. [In that time] I’ve worked for BP, Shell, Woolworths, and more… so far, I’ve found [Gilgandra] easy going. Everybody wants to help each other out.
“We’re here to support and look after the community. We hope they will support us back.”
